9 Games vs. 9 Opponents

A game of cribbage usually takes 15 to 20 minutes. The club randomly draws seats before play starts and then everyone rotates after each game in such a way that you always play against someone different.

Everyone plays a total of 9 games, which means the session generally lasts 2.5 to 3 hours. If, for any reason you have trouble moving, don't worry. The rotation scheme allows for stationary seats as well.

We're Part of the American Cribbage Congress

Our club here in El Dorado Hills is part of a national organization called the American Cribbage Congress (ACC). There are roughly 200 clubs across the country that make up the ACC's local Grass Roots division. Being part of the ACC means the club plays by a standard set of rules, so if there are any questions about how something should work there is always an easy way to get questions answered.

Relax and Have Fun Playing a Social Game

One of the great things about cribbage is that it's a social game. You can chat, laugh, relax and have fun while playing. Our club is just that, a social gathering. New players are welcomed with open arms, and our existing members will definitely help new players learn the mechanics and ease them in. If you haven't played in a while, or haven't played anything but kitchen table cribbage that's no problem.

Earn Daily, Season & Lifetime Awards

Being part of the ACC also means that there is a national award structure in place. Awards are given for Grand Slams (winning every game in one session), 28-hands and 29-hands.

The club's official season runs from September through May, and during that time players can earn points which contribute to season-long club standings. At the end of the season, the person with the most points win the club championship.

Earning points through the years and reaching certain lifetime milestones results in awards, and invitations to special tournaments like the ACC's Tournament of Champions, held annually in Reno, NV.
